How To be Happy for Others

Happy Monday!

When you see people happy, achieving things, traveling, buying things, doing charity work, frequenting the sacraments, putting out inspirational thoughts, doing wonderful work... how do you feel?

Honestly assess this and look deep, because this very feeling may make or break your joy.

Sadly, some people, out of envy and malice will dismiss good work, good fortune, good thoughts and look for a way to discredit, belittle or put down people who are actually doing something with their lives.

How can we teach ourselves to be happy for others?

🙏 Welcome the day with gratitude not only for what we have but also for who we have in our lives. Those who helped us, those who teach us, those who are there for us, those who from a distance ignite positive thoughts in us. Thank God for their lives and how their lives make yours great as well.

✨ Recognize that the world’s energy is collective and as we uplift others, it will increase the general energy of your environment as well.

👭 Notice the good things people do and encourage/support it. Be part of a community of people who have solutions, who think of possibilities, who appreciates each other. Paralyzed by the thought you are not solving world problems? We may not all have the ideas, stamina or network to do it,  but we can always support those who can.

🎖 Be a “good” finder. Discover strengths and not weaknesses. Do not go one day without verbalizing praise to at least one person.

🌟 Chunk the pride and emulate, imitate, be a disciple of good. Do as happy people do. Do as successful people do. Do as holy people do. Their positivity is not out there to mock you. Their lives shine so you can find your light as well. Fight it and you go the opposite direction.

Do not be a grinch and feed on the misfortune of others just to feel better or bigger. Likewise, do not put down what others achieve because they make you feel smaller or less accomplished.

Bigger, better, richer, more fulfilled... these are all subjective. The happiest people are those who are happy with what they got and are happy to build dreams with others.

In the end, you have only your life to face, and your thoughts to create your reality. Make them beautiful!
