Pass Me the Mic
Happy Monday!
Last night on my way to mass, I was in deep thought on how I miss singing in church. I have always been fond of singing but not until I was encouraged by friends from Divine Mercy Church in SingaporeDarius and SamVangie did I get a chance to sing in front of a congregation.
I remember practicing endlessly, and everytime, getting deeper and deeper into the spirit of the psalms I am given. By the time I reach the pulpit, I have so much to say and prayer to share, I was always afraid my voice will crack and I’d be in tears.
Those were happy times indeed.
The best compliment I’ve heard someone give me was when a parishioner approached me and said, “That was touching, it was so clear, like glass”. ☺️ I hope she meant, she got the message.
It did not take me long to realize I still often hold a mic nowadays, though for a different purpose. I am very aware I have a different energy when I have a message I want to send across.
All I need is a mic. A chance to push a thought towards those who care to listen.
In this life, I wish not to disappoint anyone who hands me over a mic. Now, that is enough work to last me a lifetime.
Hope someone hands over a mic to you as well.... or better yet, hand over a mic to others... and listen.
